📢 CANVAS UPDATES

Here are some Canvas updates and new features that have been recently released or are coming soon.

 

New Quizzes - The current Classic Quizzes will remain available. The June 2024 deadline to migrate to New Quizzes has been removed by Instructure. Instructors will be able to continue using both quiz types.

Scheduled Publishing - Instructors can now schedule when to publish pages.

📢 MICROSOFT TEAMS UPDATES

Polls in MS Teams - Forms is no longer the app to use to create polls. Microsoft has a new tool called "Polls." Forms should only be used to create surveys.

💡 Pro Tip: Add polls to meeting events prior to an online meeting by clicking "Chat with Participants" on the meeting event in the Teams app calendar. Add the Poll app to the chat and create a poll.

📢 HARMONIZE UPDATES

Canvas Rubrics - Easily add Canvas rubrics to Harmonize discussions.

Set Assignment DatesSet available from, to, and until dates in the Harmonize settings  (synchronized to the Canvas assignment settings).

 

Synchronize Milestone Dates -Students can synchronize Harmonize milestone dates with their calendar/to-do list. More Information

📢 ALLY UPDATES

Edit Canvas Content Items - Instructors can edit discussions, announcements, assignments, and pages via the Ally Report and fix most issues by clicking a content item on the report page.

Ally Report Issue - If you deleted files and/or Canvas content from your courses, it might take a few days for the Ally report to refresh and remove the deleted content.

Canvas and other Canvas related software updates are sent via myCETL announcements (in Canvas) throughout the semester.  Be sure to keep your Canvas notifications enabled for announcements to stay informed! Here’s how to set your notification preferences.
